Here are the steps on how to comment and object to the New proposed EE Legislation:

  • Go to the DEL website and download the call for public comment document.

  • Read the document and familiarize yourself with the proposed legislation.

  • If you have any comments or objections to the proposed legislation, write a submission.

Submit your submission to the DEL by 30 June 2023.

Your submission should include the following information:

  • Your comments or objections to the proposed legislation.

  • Any supporting evidence or documentation.

The DEL will consider all submissions received before the closing date. The DEL will then publish a report on the submissions and decide on whether to proceed with the proposed legislation or amend accordingly.

The debate over the new proposed EE legislation is likely to continue for some time with several high court cases expected. It is important to note that the legislation is still in its draft form and that it is possible that some of the concerns raised by companies will be addressed before the legislation is finalized.
